Here we have a VERY RARE!! 1970's - 50 YRS OLD!! GENUINE ORIGINAL JOHN PLAYER NO. 6 CIGARETTE ADVERTISEMENT QUALITY POSTER WITH CUSTOM HOT ROD AUTOMOBILIA PROFESSIONALLY MOUNTED AND FRAMED In GREAT ORIGINAL COLOUR CONDITION. It's approximately 50 years old and the colour dosen't seem too have faded very much in all that time, considering and i've now had it hung on my wall in complete shade for about the last 3 yrs after framing it.

The only main faults on the poster, are a few short, 2 or so long, diagonal lines, mainly over the left hand side car area, which to me look a bit like sharp creases, or almost light cuts, not through, but it's hard to tell even looking close up. I've tried to capture these in the photos - PLEASE LOOK CAREFULLY AT THE PHOTOS! I'm afraid I can't tell you where it was from originally obviously safe to say it must have been an advertising campaign at the time, featuring the two custom hot rod cars in it as well, whether that was relevant I can't say. Also, please note there are, as best I remember, 2 short tears on one or 2 outer edges of the poster, but cannot be seen, because of the internally bevelled mount covering them from sight. The glass thickness is at least 2mm.

The proper, large, thick mount card was cut to size accurately and correctly, with bevelled internal edges and I personally think the colour mount really suits it. It took me and the guy doing it over an hour to decide on the actual colour and shade, Lol!!

I actually got round to Google the poster after I got it and the only thing I could find after an extensive search for about 2hrs on the Wide Web, was only one photo of a double centrespread from a Sunday magazine the same, no further info or anything at all was found. As you will tell from the dimensions I've provided this is quite a bit larger than out of a magazine, but then again, not as big as say, a cinema poster, which I'd wondered if that's what it may have been intended for originally? One may be able to find out more about it than I did possibly, especially if you have a degree of knowledge about such things, whereas I can't say I have that much. Please see approximate measurements below.

Internal aperture width of mount (horizontally accross) - 28 1/4. Internal aperture height of mount - 19. Overall width of frame - 36 1/2. Overall height of frame - 25.
