Edward Morris' Gallery was in his house on the seafront before it moved in 1994 to the Square in Aberdyfi. He also exhibited his work in Dickinson's Gallery, Corve Street Ludlow. The picture is framed and the frame is, I think, in reasonable condition.
I do not sell frames. So please remember to tell me if you would like to have the frame with or without glass.
Please bear in mind that I cannot insure glass or frames and if the glass in broken in transit it may damage the watercolour - that is even after I have taped the full surface of the glass to try to hold it in place if it breaks. Edward Morris Lives in Aberdovey. He is a landscape and marine artist using the transparent technique of water colour. He has exhibited regularly at the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours Exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London and has also exhibited at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, The Royal Society of Marine Artists and The Royal Cambrian Academy. Edward Morris was a Chartered Physiotherapist, working at both the Machynlleth and Tywyn Hospitals and the district.
He developed quickly as a keen watercolour artist, giving painting tuition classes and was appointed as President of the Aberdyfi Art Society, a position also enjoyed later by his daughter Clare Davis. The Biographical notes below have been gleaned from Clare Davies and the internet: Edward developed a keen interest in painting in watercolour and in 1967 he and his wife Kay established the Gallery by hanging paintings in the dining room of their Bed and Breakfast on the sea front. He painted prolifically in any free time and while on holiday and soon mastered the difficult medium of watercolour. Alongside displaying work at The Gallery, he had paintings accepted at.The Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours - exhibiting at The Mall Galleries London. The Royal Society of Marine Artists. The Royal Birmingham Society of Artists.
1994 - The Gallery moved to The Square in Aberdyfi, where it remains today. The Gallery was the longest established retail business in Aberdyfi to remain in the same family before it closed during the COVID period. SUNSET OVER THE PORT OF ABERDYFI. Whilst if the picture is framed, it is likely that the frame is not perfect but may be acceptable to you. I would suggest that this is an opportunity to have the picture re-mounted and framed to compliment the room in which you wish to hang it to optimise on its effect.
Make the most of your art! That being said, I can't insure for damage to the glass or frame. High x 16" wide Frame: 481mm high x 601mm wide 19" high x 23 5/8 wide.
