RARE c. 1958 Meyer Optik Gorlitz Primotar 50mm f2.8 M42 Mount Beautiful

  
Stunning little Meyer Optik Gorlitz Primotar 50mm f2.8 dating from around 1958 with the much less common and more desirable M42 mount. In excellent condition and looks great on my Canon RP via adapter (pictured but obviously not included in the sale). Mechanics are excellent with smooth and even focus and the preset aperture works very well with nice clean blades. It is a stunning looking lens, similar to the Meritar but looks more classy and optically superior. The lens has some marks on the front element but thankfully these have zero effect on image quality.

There is no fungus or filth and, other than the front element marks, the optics are excellent. Thoroughly tested on my Canon RP with excellent results.

I have included a pic taken of the River Leven with Dumbarton Castle in the background. These lenses are famed for their "soap bubble bokeh" but is sharp enough to be an everyday use lens. Included are front and rear lens caps.
