Educated at St George's, Weybridge and studied at St Martin's School of Art and the City & Guilds School of Art, Kensington, London, studying painting and printmaking under a travelling bursary in Europe. A Fellow of the Society of Designer Craftsmen and an Honorary Member of the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers.

Michael has exhibitions at Jordan Galleries, London; The Catheral Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk; Wice Gallery, Paris; Abbey de Flaran Gers, France; Halesworth Gallery, Suffolk and, from time to time, at Royal Academy, also showing at the home of Arnaud and Anne Guinard in S. He had solo exhibitions at Grosvenor Gallery 1996 and another at Chappel Galleries, Essex in 1999 and, in 2001, a show at Christchurch Mansion, Ipswich.
