Georg Sturm (1855-1923) lady antique etching lithograph numbered signed

  
Antique etching printed on thick unwatermarked paper. Coloured ground (pale green tint) on a white base. This is a very well detailed impression with excellent inking. Numbered 57:100 and signed verso in pencil. I have not seen another and generally his works on paper are rarely seen.

Light spotting to verso with very little show through. Strong plate marks and pass.

Frame and mount offered as used with zero commercial value. All retained intact if collected. Sizes: Visible 50 cm x 53.5 cm or 19 ¾" x 21".

Framed 71 cm x 69 cm or 28" x 27". Sturm is a Dutch/Austrian artist. Millions of people walk past his work every week in Amsterdam's Rijksmuseum and Central Railway Station yet. In my view this is an outstanding lithograph, the photo doesn't do it justice.

The graphical detail and emotion is outstanding. This is either for an individual with an exquisite eye, or a collector of Sturm's work.
