E-Bike E-Mtb MBIQ-P Tuning kit for Shimano EP8 mid mounted-motors

I bought this for my Shimano EP8 for use on private land, I set it up so that it was off, unless the speed sensor magnet was in place for 4 seconds on start up, so the bike was kept legal when on public land. I bought it in November 2022, so it has had very little use. I no longer have the EP8 motor, having bought a bike with a Bosch motor, so I no longer need this. It is so simple to install and as it is small, the motor cover closes without any issues, I know people with different systems struggle to get the cover on fully. My understanding is that you need to remove this, whenever updating the motor software, and then refit it afterwards. It's so easy to do though, that you won't mind doing that to ensure you don't cause any issues during the updates.

What does this Tuning Kit do? The MBIQ-P for Shimano EP8 mid-mounted motors is a tuning kit which comes with plug-and-play connectors, allowing for a very easy install. When installed, real speed will be displayed up until 14mph (22km/h) - from that point onwards, the speed signal is manipulated to allow the ebike to continue accelerating past the previous limit of 16mph (25km/h). Maximum speeds of up to 37mph (60km/h) can be expected, depending on the bike and gearing. Very easy installation - the tuning is simply plugged between the existing sensor cable and the engine and can be removed again if necessary.

The functionality can be reprogrammed after installation without additional devices. By your own choise you can choose: MODE 1: Tuning permanently activated (permanent motor support). MODE 2: Tuning permanently deactivated motor support up to 16mph (25 km/h). MODE 3: Tuning according to switch-on condition via magnet, can be deactivated while driving!

The module simply has to be plugged in between the speed sensor and the motor controller. For an optimal connection, the tuning module has the same connectors as the existing sensor cable.

If necessary, the MBIQ-P can be removed again at any time. You will receive installation instructions and tuning kit in the same box.
