Asahi Takumar SMC 50mm f1.4 Lens M42 Mount, Clean &Tested, Adaptable To Digital

  

Pentax Super Multi Coated (SMC) Takumar 50mm f/1.4 Lens, came to me with a Spotmatic SPII, but is a duplicate so not needed by me so offered for sale. Barrel is in good condition but with slight wear to the paint on the aperture ring and auto / manual toggle switch (see photos). Beyond the cosmetics the glass is clean, fungus and haze free though with some internal dust as would be expected in a lens of this age. The focus rings movement is buttery smooth throughout its span. The aperture is precise with definite clicks.

The iris is fast moving with no lag. The lens has a slight yellow hue due to Thorium, (though not as badly as some examples you see) it's a characteristic of this lens it can be lightened further by leaving it exposed to sunlight for example on a window sill. The manual / auto switch works as expected, (auto on a M42 mount film body with auto diaphram or manual on digital body). This is a late example with a small mount pin which if the lens isn't mounted needs to be depressed toggle the auto / manual switch. Comes with original metal slip on lens cap, a mount cap and a 55mm lens hood. All functions have been checked on my Asahi Sony NEX / Spotmatic / Pentax K-70 (see example photos).
